The Journey – Part 1

August 18, 2024

“… that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.” Romans 1:12 (NIV)

“So in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” Romans 12:5 (NIV)

How to Develop Authentic Connections

  • Push past my fears.

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear…” 1 John 4:18 (NIV)

  • Be a little less selfish.

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” Philippians 2:3-4 (NIV)

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” Ephesians 4:29 (NIV)

  • Be honest and trustworthy.

An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.” Proverbs 24:26 (NIV)

“Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.” Ephesians 4:15 (NIV)

“A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy person keeps a secret.” Proverbs 11:13 (NIV)
