The Ultimate Sacrifice

No Greater Love – Part 6

“There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13 (NLT)

“By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life…” 2 Peter 1:3 (NLT)

The Path to True Humility

(Philippians 2:5-11)

1. Start with your thoughts.

“In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus.” vs. 5 (NIV)

2. Let go of self.

(Jesus) Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage.” vs. 6 (NIV)

3. Seek to serve.

“he (Jesus) made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!”

vs. 7-8 (NIV)

4. Let God lift you up.

“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” vs. 9-11 (NIV)
