How to Change the World

Faith in Politics – Part 4

“…I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.” 1 Corinthians 9:22 (NIV)

Engaging the Culture for Change

Acts 17:16-34

1. Recognize the real issues.

“While Paul was waiting for them in Athens, he was greatly distressed to see that the city was full of idols.” vs. 16 (NIV)

2. Address the issues based on who not what.

“So he reasoned in the synagogue with both Jews and God-fearing Greeks, as well as in the marketplace day by day…” vs. 17 (NIV)

3. Answer the questions people are asking.

“…‘People of Athens! I see that in every way you are very religious. For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: to an unknown god. So you are ignorant of the very thing you worship—and this is what I am going to proclaim to you.’” vs. 22-23 (NIV)

4. Proclaim Christ.

“…but now he (God) commands ALL people everywhere to repent.” vs. 30 (NIV)
