Don’t Lose Your Shine

Faith in Politics – Part 2

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 (NIV)

How to Really Shine

(Philippians 2:1-16)

“…Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.” vs. 15b (NIV

1) Work on yourself first.

“Therefore, my dear friends, as YOU have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out YOUR salvation with fear and trembling.” vs. 12 (NIV)

2) Know your ultimate purpose.

“for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.” vs. 13 (NIV)

3) Stop complaining and arguing.

“Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, ‘children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.’” vs. 14-15a (NIV)

4) Hold on tightly to Jesus.

…you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life….” vs. 15b-16a (NIV)
