Better Now – Part 1 – Choosing Better Relationships Now

April 7, 2024

“And may the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and overflow…” 1 Thessalonians 3:12 (NIV)

1) Choose serving over selfishness.

“Do you know where your fights and arguments come from? They come from the SELFISH DESIRES that war within YOU.” James 4:1-2 (NCV)

“A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will BE REFRESHED.” Proverbs 11:25 (NIV)

2) Choose humility over pride.

“Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.” Proverbs 16:18 (NIV)

“And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.’” James 4:6 (NLT)

3) Choose commitment over insecurity.

“Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever TRUSTS IN THE LORD is kept SAFE.” Proverbs 29:25 (NIV)

“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.” James 1:12 (NIV)

4) Choose forgiveness over resentment.

“…be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.” James 1:19-20 (NIV)

“Love PROSPERS when a fault is forgiven, but DWELLING ON IT separates close friends.” Proverbs 17:9 (NLT)

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7 (NIV)
