Covenant – Part 5
I will protect the unity of my church.
I will share the responsibility of my church.
I will serve in the ministry of my church.
I will support the testimony of my church.
“Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ…I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, STRIVING TOGETHER AS ONE for the faith of the gospel.” Philippians 1:27 (NIV)
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:42-47
I support the testimony of my church by…
…attending faithfully.
“Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts.” vs. 46 (NIV)
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
…living a godly life.
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching…” vs. 42 (NIV)
“…They broke bread in their homes and ate together with GLAD and SINCERE hearts, PRAISING God and enjoying the favor of all the people And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” vs. 46-47 (NIV)
“As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in ALL YOU DO.” 1 Peter 1:14-15 (NIV)
