Habitually Healthy Finance
Habits
Part 2
Healthy Financial Habits
1) Recognize God as the source.
“The earth is the Lord ’s, and EVERYTHING in it…” Proverbs 24:1 (NIV)
“You may say to yourself, ‘My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.’ But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who GIVES YOU THE ABILITY to produce wealth…” Deuteronomy 8:17-18 (NIV)
“And my God will meet ALL YOUR NEEDS according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”Philippians 4:19 (NIV)
2) Take a long-term approach.
“Steady plodding brings prosperity; hasty speculation brings poverty.” Proverbs 21:5 (LB)
“Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first SIT DOWN and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?” Luke 14:28 (NIV)
3) Be intentional about spending and saving.
“Be sure you KNOW THE CONDITION of your flocks, give CAREFUL ATTENTION to your herds; for riches do not endure forever and a crown is not secure for all generations.” Proverbs 27:23-24 (NIV)
“The wise man saves for the future, but the foolish man spends whatever he gets.” Proverbs 21:20 (LB)
