Failure & Anxiety – Anxious for Nothing – Part 3
Failure & Anxiety
Anxious for Nothing
Part 3
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)
“Some of the wise WILL STUMBLE, so that they may be refined, purified and made spotless until the time of the end…” Daniel 11:35 (NIV)
Finding Hope in Failure
1) Remember that everybody fails.
“There is NO ONE on earth who does what is right all the time and never makes a mistake.” Ecclesiastes 7:20 (GNT)
2) Realize that failure is not fatal.
“A righteous person may fall seven times, but he GETS UP again…” Proverbs 24:16 (GNT)
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we DO NOT GIVE UP.” Galatians 6:9 (NIV)
3) Recognize the benefits of failure.
“And we know that IN ALL THINGS God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 (NIV)
“My suffering was good for me, for it taught me to pay attention to your decrees.” Psalm 119:71 (NLT)
4) Rest in God’s grace.
“He canceled the debt, which listed all the rules WE FAILED to follow. He took away that record with its rules and nailed it to the cross.” Colossians 2:14 (NCV)
“Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, ‘I will confess my rebellion to the Lord .’ And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone.” Psalm 32:5 (NLT)
