Purpose – Part 7
“Patient endurance is what YOU NEED NOW, so that you will continue to DO GOD’S WILL. Then you will receive all that he has promised.” Hebrews 10:36 (NLT)
“In everything we do, we show that we are true ministers of God. We PATIENTLY ENDURE troubles and hardships and calamities of every kind.” 2 Corinthians 6:4 (NLT)
How Do I Develop Endurance?
1) Embrace God’s purpose in the struggle.
“You know that such testing of your faith produces endurance. Endure until your testing is over. Then you will be mature and complete, and you won’t need anything.” James 1:3-4 (GW)
2) Deepen my spiritual roots.
“But since they HAVE NO ROOT, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away.” Mark 4:17 (NLT)
“But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who HEAR the WORD, RETAIN IT, and by persevering produce a crop.” Luke 8:15 (NIV)
“For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.” Romans 15:4 (NIV)
3) Keep my focus on Jesus.
“Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him HE ENDURED the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2 (NIV)
4) Depend on God’s power.
“Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit…We also pray that you will be strengthened with all HIS GLORIOUS POWER so you will have all the endurance and patience you need.” Colossians 1:10-11 (NLT)
“Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, FAITHFUL IN PRAYER.” Romans 12:11-12 (NIV)
