Know Jesus No Problems – Part 3
“…you will know the TRUTH, and the TRUTH will set you free.” John 8:32 (NIV)
Problems are inevitable; following Jesus makes them purposeful.
“I have told you these things, so that IN ME you may have peace. In this world you WILL have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 (NIV)
God uses my problems…
(John 15:7-13)
1) …to deepen my faith.
“These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold…” 1 Peter 1:7 (NLT)
“But God knows the way that I take, and when he has tested me, I will come out like gold.” Job 23:10 (NCV)
2) …to develop my character.
“We also have joy with our troubles, because we know that these troubles produce patience. And patience produces CHARACTER, and character produces HOPE. And this hope will never disappoint us…” Romans 5:3-5 (NCV)
“For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become LIKE HIS SON…” Romans 8:29 (NLT)
“Let perseverance FINISH ITS WORK so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1:4 (NIV)
3) …to direct my life.
“Lord, your discipline is good, for it leads to life and health…” Isaiah 38:16 (NLT)
“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” Genesis 50:20 (NIV)
4) …to display His power.
“…but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed IN HIM.” John 9:3 (NIV)
“…My grace is enough for you. When you are weak, my power is made perfect in you.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NCV)
“God blesses those who patiently endure testing… Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.” James 1:12 (NLT)
