Prayer is an Antidote for Anxiety – Part 2
“One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, TEACH US TO PRAY…” Luke 11:1 (NIV)
“Give us each day our daily bread.” Luke 11:3 (NIV)
I can trust God to provide…
…my physical needs.
“When you supply it, they gather it. You open your hand to feed them, and they are richly satisfied.”Psalm 104:28 (NLT)
…my spiritual needs.
“Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” Matthew 4:4 (NIV)
…my relational needs.
“…They broke bread in their homes and ate TOGETHER with glad and sincere hearts.” Acts 2:46 (NIV)
…my greatest need.
“And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you…” Luke 22:19 (NIV)
How to Trust God Daily
(Philippians 4:4-9)
1) Start with gratitude
“Rejoice in the Lord ALWAYS. I will say it again: Rejoice!” vs. 4 (NIV)
“…by prayer and petition, with THANKSGIVING, present your requests to God.” vs. 6b (NIV)
2) Pray more, worry less!
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything…” vs. 6a (NLT)
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself…” Matthew 6:34 (NIV)
“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” vs. 7 (NIV)
3) Think about the right things.
“Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” vs. 8 (NLT)
4) Share with others.
“Whatever you have learned or RECIEVED or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice…” vs. 9 (NIV)
