Transitions – Part 1

 

Good Family Planning

(James 4:13-17)

 

Invite God into your plans.

“Now listen, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money…Instead, you ought to say, ‘If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.’” vs. 13, 15 (NIV)

“We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.” Proverbs 16:9 (NLT)

How:    Pray    God’s Word    Godly counsel

 

Be ready to change your plans.

“Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow…” vs. 14a (NIV)

“But I trust in you, Lord; I say, ‘You are my God.’ My times are in your hands…” Psalm 31:14-15 (TLB)

“So don’t be anxious about tomorrow. God will take care of your tomorrow too. Live one day at a time.” Matthew 6:34 (TLB)

 

Start living your plan today.

“Your life is like a mist. You can see it for a short time, but then it goes away.” vs. 14b (NCV)

“Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.”  Ecclesiastes 11:4 (NLT)

“Anyone who knows the right thing to do, but does not do it, is sinning.” vs. 17 (NCV)
