Covenant – Part 3
I will serve in the ministry of my Church.
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9 (NIV)
“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:8-10 (NIV)
How to Serve God by Serving Others
- By discovering my gifts and talents.
“…I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with ALL KIND OF SKILLS— to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze.” Exodus 31:3-4 (NIV)
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)
2. By being equipped by my pastors and leaders.
“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.” Ephesian 4:11-12 (NIV)
3. By developing a servant’s heart and actions.
“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2:3-5
4. By committing to join a HOME Group.
