Mighty God

“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.” Isaiah 9:2 (NIV)

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 (NIV)

“You, God, are awesome in your sanctuary; the God of Israel gives power and strength to HIS PEOPLE. Praise be to God!” Psalm 68:35 (NIV)

Accessing God’s Power for My Battles

(Mark 5:15-34)

  1. Recognize my need.

“And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent ALL SHE HAD, yet instead of getting better she grew worse.”  vs. 25-26 (NIV)

“‘…for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may REST ON ME.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.” 1 Peter 5:6 (NIV)

2Connect with Jesus on a deeper level.

“When she HEARD about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and TOUCHED his cloak…Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.” vs. 27-29 (NIV)

“Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.” John 15:4 (NIV)

3. Act as if I already have it.

“…she thought, ‘If I just touch his clothes, I WILL BE healed.” vs. 28 (NIV)

“He said to her, ‘Daughter, YOUR FAITH has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.’” vs. 34 (NIV)

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)

“…He (God) will not grow tired or weary…He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” Isaiah 40:28-29 (NIV)
