Habits for Healthy Relationships
(Philippians 1:3-11)
1) Be grateful for the people in your life.
“I thank my God EVERY TIME I remember you.” vs. 3 (NIV)
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And BE THANKFUL.” Colossians 3:15 (NIV)
2) Practice positive praying.
“In all my prayers for all of YOU, I always pray with JOY.” vs. 4 (NIV)
Prayers:
They will grow in God’s love.
“And this is my prayer: that your LOVE MAY ABOUND more and more in knowledge and depth of insight.” vs. 9 (NIV)
They will make wise choices.
“that you will see the difference between good and bad and will choose the good…” vs. 10 (NLT)
They will live for God’s glory.
“that you will be filled with the good things produced in your life by Christ to bring glory and praise to God.” vs. 11 (NLT)
3) Be patient with people.
“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished…” vs. 6 (NIV)
4) Develop a compassionate heart.
“So it is right that I should feel as I do about all of you, for you have a SPECIAL PLACE in my HEART.” vs. 7 (NLT)
“God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection OF CHRIST JESUS.” vs. 8 (NIV)
