God’s call on our lives is…
1) …a personal call.
“The word of the Lord CAME TO Jonah…” vs. 1a (NIV)
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)
2) …an uncomfortable call.
“Go to the GREAT CITY of Nineveh…” vs. 2a (NIV)
3) …a compassionate call.
“…and preach AGAINST it…” vs. 2b (NIV)
“Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be ALWAYS full of GRACE, seasoned with SALT, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” Colossians 4:5-6 (NIV)
4) …up to God, not me.
“…because its wickedness has come up BEFORE ME.” vs. 2b (NIV)
“What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside…” 1 Corinthians 5:12-13 (NIV)
