No Greater Love Week 5 | Sacrificial Faith | Phillip Lee

Sacrificial Faith

No Greater Love – Part 5

“There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13 (NLT)

“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” 1 John 4:16 (NIV)

How to Have Sacrificial Faith

1. Let confusion and questions lead to commitment.

“…‘Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.’ Confused and disturbed, Mary tried to think what the angel could mean.” Luke 1:28-29 (NIV)

“How will this be,’ Mary asked the angel, ‘since I am a virgin?’” Luke 1:34 (NIV)

“I am the Lord’s servant…” Luke 1:38 (NIV)

2. Let chaos lead to focus.

“But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.” Luke 2:19 (NIV)

3. Let fear and failure lead to growth.

“Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends. When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him.” Luke 2:44-45 (NIV)

“When his parents saw him, they were astonished…” Luke 2:48 (NIV)

4. Let pain and grief lead me closer to Jesus.

“Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother…” John 19:25 (NIV)

“They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.” Acts 1:14 (NIV)
