2 Corinthians 5:16-19

This is such an awesome place to conclude our journey. Paul has walked us through an immense amount, and we’ve skipped around and just skimmed the surface. He has reoriented us around a hope that transcends our circumstances and called us to an identity anchored to Christ’s work.

Today draws from all we have talked about so far and changes the focus from ourselves to others. We experience the immeasurable amount of freedom the Gospel provides, and this calls us to consider how we view those around us. We are not the sum of our greatest successes and failures but are walking in the promise and the identity provided by Jesus.

As we live in that hope, we extend it to others. Our mission is to teach hope, and true hope is always found in Christ. We live eternally focused, hopefully drenched, mission-filled lives. God’s grace fuels our effort to reach those around us. We aim to display the goodness of God in His saving us while we were sinners to the world around us. This place is not our home, but we are called to show this place what home looks like.

Do you think that your life is marked by hope? In what way can we better cling to the hope Jesus has provided for us?

Prayer Time: Jesus, thank you for your word. Thank you for allowing me to see your grace and goodness as I have walked through this series with my church family. I pray that you continue to call me to grow and give me the strength needed to be obedient. Create in me a heart and life that point people to you in all that I do. Thank you for the joy that living for you produces. Help me to share that joy. In your name, I pray. Amen.
